You may be the miracle match for someone who is in urgent need of a bone marrow transplant in order to survive. Right now, there are at least 30,000 patients suffering from leukemia and other blood related diseases. The Gift of Life Bone Marrow Registry has facilitated matches for over 2,100 patients, but many are still desperately searching.
Registration involves a simple swab of cells from the inside of the cheek (no blood is drawn at this stage). Donors must be between the ages of 18-60 and in general good health, meet the guidelines and be willing to donate to any patient.
